Many people have asked me what Vetraceuticals can do for them and their pet/s. When looking at a nutritional system, it is important to realize that nutrition is cumulative. What you put into, or omit from your dogs system today, can affect his/her health for years to come. There are a lot of people that tell me they’ve been feeding _______ brand of food for ____ years and their dog has done just fine with it. That may well be, but nutrition is cumulative. Imagine if you or I ate McDonalds Hamburgers every day for our entire lives. In the beginning we might do just fine with it, but over time, it would start to have a negative impact. The same goes for dog nutrition.

That being said, I prefer to think of Vetraceuticals as “the best health insurance for pets on the market today”. Providing your dog or cat with all of the nutrients he/she needs for better health can help your pet live a longer, healthier life, Possibly mean less vet bills, and a happier dog or cat. To tell you the truth, when I first started my dogs onto Vetraceuticals, I did so because I knew the benefits of the ingredients in the product, but I hoped not to see a difference in my dogs. I was honestly hoping they were healthy enough already. I had been feeding my dogs super premium foods and had spent considerable time and expense to find the best foods for them. But I was quite happy with what I DID see in my own dogs. More on that in another post though.

Looking at the ingredient list for Vetraceuticals, there are things in it that are meant to do a variety of things. According to the brochure there are nutrients that Improve digestion and nutrient absorption, help microbial balance, help reduce the inflammation associated with arthritis and provide building blocks to stave off degenerative joint disease. There are Phytonutrient-rich Whole Food Concentrates. It is naturally high in antioxidant carotenoids, essential vitamins and functional fibers, nutritive and cleaning. The Whole FOod Veggies from the Sea are a rich source of natural iodine, phytonutrients and functional fibers. There are free radical fighters that help support the immune system to combat premature aging, cancer, cardiovascular disease and arthritis. And the essential vitamins and minerals are meant to support healthy nervous, cardiovascular and immune systems as well as skin, eyes, muscle, liver, brain and joints.

What does this mean to you? Providing better nutrition through Vetraceuticals can support the following functions:

-Anti-aging

-anti-arthritis

-anti-cancer

-improved immunity

-improved joint and muscle function

-improved digestion and nutrient absorption

-improved cardiovascular performance

-improved energy and vitality

-healthier skin and more lustrous coat

-fresher breath, stronger teeth

-detoxification

 and much much more.

That is according to the product brochure. When I first evaluated the product, I wanted to know the ingredients very well. I already knew some of them, for instance, I already took Bromelain for swelling in my back and as a digestive aid…so I was familiar with it’s anti-inflammatory and digestive properties. I was familiar with co-enzymeQ10, and many of the other super quality ingredients. But I decided to look up and research each of the ingredients and see what they do and how they might affect a dog. The result? I put all my dogs on the product and started sharing it with all my clients:-)

What kinds of things have we seen with it specifically? From my own dogs and clients dogs we’ve seen improved skin and coat, MUCH better breath, less stools, and less foul smelling stools, decreased amount of food needed (in a couple of my own dogs my food bill was decreased by 1/3…which is fantastic in todays economic status!) easier weight maintenance in working dogs, and improved joint function. I’ve also seen a number of behavioral changes (my guess is it is the Bcomplex perhaps….these have been known to help stress…but it could be because the dogs just feel better and therefore behave better!). We’ve seen these mostly in skittish dogs. Though not a miracle cure-all, we’ve certainly seen some improvements!

More on what I’ve seen in my own dogs in a future post!
